Neural circuits underlying predictive behaviors during pursuit.

Rodents can be trained to ‘hunt’ and intercept visual targets for reward and often exhibit predictive trajectories during this behavior. Predictions require the animal to compute optimal trajectories by tracking and integrating multiple self-motion and task-relevant variables. We are interested in the neurocomputational process yielding these predictive paths. Example research directions include:

  1. Neural circuitry required for predictive visual pursuit.
  2. Environmental or social influences on optimal pursuit strategies.
